H Tech Solutions is pleased to announce that ODS now has full support for Windows PCs including desktops notebooks and tablets running Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1. For those ODS customers who have a current subscription, there are no additional charges or fees for ODS to manage Windows 8.1. Each ODS subscription provides device management for up to 5 devices per user for one low monthly price.
Windows 8.1 is due to release from Microsoft on October 17th. For Windows 8 devices which are already managed with ODS, there is no need to re-deploy or re-configure the device. ODS will continue to manage the device with the same policies as before the upgrade.
Here are some of the new ODS features available for Windows 8.1:
- Option to manage the device with the OMA-DM agent or the ODS client software
- Windows 8.1 automatic updates
- Deploy packaged software to Windows 8.1 devices
