ODS now has full support for Apple devices running Mac OS X 10.9 and above. This means that ODS now supports all major device platforms from Microsoft, Apple, and Google. For those ODS customers who have a current subscription, there are no additional charges or fees for ODS to manage Mac OS X. ODS provides device management for up to 5 devices per user for one low monthly price.
ODS manages Mac OS X using the Apple provided MDM agent. There are no 3rd party software packages that need to be installed. Enrollment with Intune can be performed via the Safari browser. The enrollment process will deploy a management profile to the OS X device. These devices can then be managed via a cloud service with no on-premises infrastructure required.
Here are some of the features available for Mac OS X management:
- Resource access profiles including WiFi, VPN, and certificates
- Enforce policies and settings for password requirements and screensaver timeouts
- Hardware inventory reporting including File Vault encryption configuration
- Software inventory report for application name, version, and non-compliant app detection
